T.J. Tomasi, Ph.D.
Dr. T.J. Tomasi writes the syndicated newspaper feature, Golf Insider, which has been distributed by Universal Press Syndicate since 1999.
He is a teaching professional at the Nantucket Golf Club in Nantucket, Mass. and a member of the elite Top 100 Teachers chosen by Golf Magazine. He is a Class A PGA teaching professional.
With more than 25 years of experience, he has taught players of all levels, including PGA and LPGA professionals. Tomasi was formerly director of the Players School at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and director of instruction at Chuck Hogan Golf Schools. His innovative ideas and wealth of experience make him one of the most widely published golf instructors in the world. He has served as the chief instructional editor for Golf Illustrated and Golfing Magazine, as well as a contributing editor to publications such as Golf Tips, Golf Magazine, Senior Golfer and Inside Golf.
Tomasi's skills as a teacher are enhanced by his Ph.D. in education from State University of New York at Buffalo, which focused on learning theory. He has written 11 books and has been featured in a videotape series called The LAWS of Golf, based on a revolutionary golf teaching model that he co-developed. He also appears in an instructional series for CNN that appears on planes and in airports all over the world, as well as on CNN's television broadcasts on Sunday mornings.
A specialist in peak performance, Tomasi does more than 50 speaking engagements each year. In 1999, Golf Magazine appointed him chairperson of its worldwide Science & Golf Research Competition, which awards $10,000 to the most innovative and exciting research related to the game.
