Digital Slob
Digital Slob

by Curt Brandao

Curt Brandao's column, Digital Slob, has been a favorite with editors since Universal Press Syndicate picked it up in January 2006.

Brandao focuses on that segment of the population that is perfectly happy to let technology do as much of their work for them as possible. He often pokes fun at crazy new gadgets and inventions, and sometimes takes his readers forward in time to speculate on what sorts of toys might appear in technology expo shows years from now.

"I don't just write about digital cameras or PDAs in IT-speak binary code," Brandao says. "I write about my grandmother, the Oscars, high school, loose change, wisdom teeth, time travel, handwriting and ketchup, and how it all relates to how we live now in the Digital Age. 'Technology behavior' has now become pervasive enough to mock.'

Brandao, who has been in the journalism business for over a dozen years, currently writes for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, where he has worked as an editor and newsroom manager since 1998.
