Kansas City, Mo. (10/05/2004) uclick's cartoon "Shoecabbage" is at it again. This time it's a new Flash movie based loosely on original quotes found in the three-times-per-week comic panel about languages.
"Uh-Huh: A Shoecabbage Movie" was written by Teresa Dowlatshahi, who co-creates "Shoecabbage" with cartoonist David Stanford.
"The movie was inspired by a single 'Shoecabbage' panel," says Dowlatshahi. "The whole loopy script was inspired by that single, wonderful drawing."
Award-winning Flash animator Mark Clarkson, author of numerous articles and books, including "Flash 5 Cartooning," created the Flash animations as well as the voiceovers.
"Mark has amazing abilities," notes Dowlatshahi. "We really lucked out."
uclick's own Doug Sparling, senior programmer at uclick, also collaborated on the project by composing and performing the movie's music soundtrack.
"Doug is a gifted musician," says Dowlatshahi. "In fact, I sometimes find myself watching the movie just to hear the music."
"This movie represents the collaborative effort of four talented creators," says Scott Shorter, uclick's director of content acquisition. "It's a different approach to humor that's made possible by the Web and uComics.com. There's no outlet for this type of entertainment in traditional media."
