Kansas City (08/25/2006) Universal Press Syndicate (UPS) has named one new vice president, two assistant vice presidents and two directors.
Sue Roush will be a vice president of the syndicate, Kathie Kerr assistant vice president/communications and Cathy Kirkland assistant vice president/digital services, Christina Craver director/creative projects and Sarah DeCoursey director/licensing.
A 25-year veteran with UPS, Roush will retain her position of managing editor and will be taking on additional administrative and supervisory duties.
“For 25 years Sue has been a steady and insightful hand as the syndicate has grown,” says Lee Salem, editor and president of UPS. “We are confident that her greater involvement will enhance future growth.”
Kerr joined UPS in 1998. She’s in charge of the company’s internal and external marketing materials and media relations.
Kirkland joined Andrews McMeel Publishing in 1993, joining the syndicate in 1998. She will continue to supervise digital services, focusing on the rapidly evolving technological requirements of newspapers and the management of digital assets.
DeCoursey started with the syndicate in 2005 as manager of marketing. As licensing director, she will oversee national licensing opportunities between UPS creators and consumer products and service companies.
A 16-year veteran with the company, Christina Craver was formerly manager of creative projects and continues to be responsible for the marketing materials for the syndicate.
