Pat Oliphant Part of UNICEF’S Project

Kansas City, MO  (06/28/2007)  Drawings by editorial cartoonist Pat Oliphant are included in the new picture book “Look at the World” (Schaut auf diese Welt), created in commemoration of The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)’s 60th anniversary.

The book, published by German company Carlsen-Verlag, includes cartoons and caricatures from 23 countries and five continents. The 120 images in “Look at the World” display violations of children’s rights across the globe.

UNICEF, which was founded after World War II, works for the survival and development of children, gender equality, child protection, and AIDS prevention. The organization is present in all parts of the world which need help with health, education and social issues.

The 96-page picture book went on sale in Europe this June.
