Thats Outside My Boat Letting Go
of What You Cant Control

When veteran television announcer Charlie Jones got assigned to
the hinterlands of Olympic broadcasting to cover rowing, canoeing,
and kayaking, he serendipitously discovered a powerful philosophy
for focused living: Thats Outside My Boat.
He learned that Olympic rowers never let anything outside their
boat prevent them from achieving their goals. Jones, with co-author
Kim Doren, realized that the world of business and all aspects
of life could greatly benefit when this same perspective
is applied. Together, they speak to audiences on:
Thats Outside My Boat Letting Go of What You
Cant Control a powerful tool for business and
life.
Jones extensive background in broadcasting has spanned four
decades. He was the 1997 recipient of the Pete Rozelle Pro
Football Radio-Television Award presented by the Pro Football
Hall of Fame. What Makes Winners Win, his first book, was
published in 1997 and was #10 on the New York Times Business Best
Seller list. Jones won an Emmy for producing, writing and hosting
the documentary Is Winning the Name of the Game? He
later co-produced, co-wrote and co-hosted the award-winning PBS
series The American Frontier with Merlin Olsen.
Kim Doren is a marketing executive and motivational speaker for
organizations including Booz Allen & Hamilton, Microsoft, IBM,
San Diego Business Journal, USD Athletic Department and the San
Diego Hall of Champions. She is the co-author of the following You
Go Girl! Winning the Womens Way; You Go Girl! A Journal
to Get You There; Be the Ball A Golf Instruction Book

Go of What You Cant Control. Doren directed the marketing
campaign for Charlie Jones book, What Makes Winners Win,
